This toolbox turns climate education into practical youth-work activities. It combines background information with workshop methods that invite young people to discuss, estimate, compare and reflect on the climate impact of everyday choices.

Inside the toolbox

  • Introduction
  • Global warming
  • Adaptation vs mitigation
  • Mobility and climate change
  • Nutrition and climate change

Global warming workshop

Participants compare major sources of greenhouse-gas emissions, including energy, transport, agriculture and land use, industry, buildings and food waste. The activity helps them estimate relative impacts and discuss why some sectors contribute more than others.

Adaptation and mitigation

Young people explore two core responses to climate change: adaptation, which helps communities adjust to climate impacts, and mitigation, which reduces the causes of climate change. Small groups brainstorm solutions, analyse case studies and classify actions as adaptation, mitigation or both.

From theory to everyday choices

The toolbox also connects climate change with mobility and food. Its workshop format helps participants link large climate systems with choices around travel, energy use, consumption and diet.

Who can use it?

The resource is designed for educators, youth workers and team leaders who want ready-to-use activities that encourage critical thinking, discussion and practical climate action.
